Tuisku Hiltunen is a Finnish comic artist and illustrator. She has a BA(Hons) in Illustration, Graphic Novels and Children’s Publishing from the School of Creative Arts, Glyndwr University and an MA in Visual Communication design from Aalto University.
Tuisku has been passionate about comics ever since she was a child, and as an adult, comics are what she’s best known for. She was nominated for a Sarjakuva Finlandia award in 2020 for her debut comic book Kuutamo ja Muita Kertomuksia. She was also one of the artists in Katkenneita Lankoja-anthology which was nominated for the same award. She has also worked on other comics such as Epistle ,and her newest comic To Be Believed To Be Seen will be published in the upcoming Failure to Launch anthology by Iron Circus later in 2023.
As an illustrator, Tuisku loves bright colours and fun characters. In 2021 she illustrated the children’s book Maailman Hauskin, written by Mike Pohjola and published by Tammi Publishing. She’s currently working on its sequel. Her illustrations have also been published in industry magazines such as Sarjainfo and Tähtivaeltaja. During her masters degree, she also did a minor in game design, and illustrated concept art for games, including Fashion Police Squad.
She’s currently available for freelance work in comics, children’s books, editorial and games. Commissions are open.
